I swear, these fuckers will be one of the reasons the TS will HTF in the coming years. We know so little (publicly) about the long term effect on people OR animals to be using GM crops like we do. Hell if your eyes are open, and you've looked into it, you'll discover that almost EVERYTHING we eat has some GM products in it.

Chris Rock crushed it

Chris Rock is the guy who once did a skit called “How Not to Get Your Ass Kicked by the Police,” which instructed black men they were unlikely to suffer police brutality if they minded their manners. Rock’s contrarian credentials are strong. Even so, his pointed, witty and thoughtful opening monologue at the Oscars was surprisingly rangy: Instead of picking one side or the other, he nailed both.

Rock did exactly what comics are supposed to do: wrap the truth in an irresistible joke. He made both smug white Hollywood liberals and angry black protesters look bad.

Advising the #OscarsSoWhite crowd, and prominent boycotters such as Jada Pinkett Smith and Spike Lee, that they needed a sense of perspective, Rock said, “Why this Oscars? It’s the 88th Academy Awards. Which means this whole no-black-nominees thing has happened at least 71 other times.”
All those other years, “Black people did not protest. And why? Because we had real things to protest at that time. We were too busy being raped and lynched to care about who’s winning Best Cinematographer. When your grandmother’s swinging from a tree, it’s really hard to care about Best Documentary Foreign Short.”

In other words: This year’s Oscar hubbub is a fake controversy.

And in the grand scale of things, which is harder to believe — that Will Smith failed to get an Oscar nomination for “Concussion,” a so-so movie that flopped? Or that, as Rock pointed out, “Will Smith was paid 20 million for ‘Wild Wild West’?” The Smiths may not be the last people on Earth with genuine cause to complain about anything, but they’re pretty close.
Rock even worked in a hilarious, because completely accurate, dig at Jada’s acting skills: “Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna’s panties. I wasn’t invited!”

How Not to Get Your Ass Kicked by the Oscars? Be so good, they have to nominate you. “Concussion” was not that good, and “Straight Outta Compton” and “Creed” were just solid genre movies, not true Oscar-caliber features.

It would have been easy for Rock to point out that the academy’s voters are old and white and out of touch, but that would have been letting them off too easy. Instead, he coined a useful phrase that deftly captured the combination of clubbiness and condescension that rules the academy: “Hollywood is sorority racist. It’s like: ‘We like you, Rhonda, but you’re not a Kappa.’ ” Ouch.

Yet Rock also underlined the senselessness of boycotts when he pointed out that if he had resigned as host, the Oscars would have gone on anyway (and would have very easily found another black person to host).

Moreover, why should he pass up an opportunity for a great gig because of the armchair social-justice posturing of whiny losers? “How come,” asked Rock, “it’s only unemployed people who tell you to quit something?”

Range Day!!!

So yesterday about 20 or so of us met at the Oakridge gun club for a day of training and shooting the crap out of everything in sight. :) A couple of the guys even brought fully automatic guns (forgot to ask what type) it's always amazing to watch the spray of lead and casings from those things. I'm just glad I don't have to pay the bill for all that ammo..

Afterwords I took a drive up Salmon creek just to get out, it's been way to long since I had some alone time in the woods. I found a nice spot next to the river and just kicked back with my Kendal and enjoyed the piece and quiet. I REALLY need to get out and do that more often...

After that I found a side road I'd never been on before, since I love exploring I couldn't resist the temptation.. I have to say I do have a great internal sense of direction, I knew "roughly" what direction I was heading so I wasn't worried. What I didn't count on was how bad the road would get, all the recent rains have tore some serious rivulets in the road.
The reason I'm bringing this up is after about 10 miles of this I remembered I left my Get Home Bag at home.  :(  I took it out last week to swap out the water bottles (something you should do every couple of months no matter what). For those of you who don't have a GHB in your rig you should DO IT NOW!
Had I gotten stuck up there I would have been screwed, no food, no water/water filtration system, no radio to call for help.. Luckily the road ended up dropping me out within a couple of miles where I thought it would...

All in all a really nice day, I just wish I could have more of them more often...

I REALLY can't wait for summer to get here.. Camping, fishing, panning... A few days away from everyone...

Soon right?..

 Aim that way...

The river has really cut into the bank here...

Nickelback - Edge Of A Revolution (Lyric Video)

One of my favorite songs from these guys.
I first heard it on our way to the rally held in Burns, that was the same day Ammon Bundy took over the wildlife refuge..

Another example of the tyranny imposed on rural areas of our state by the BLM, if you don't know the TRUE story of what's been happening you owe it to yourself to find out.

Oregon candidate exposes social, economic catastrophe caused by federal control in Josephine County.

Ok, lets practice posting FB links..

Here's a chance to win a free Sawyer water filter.
One of my many, many interest is photography. I just have a cheap camera but I think I do ok with it...

So I've decided to try my hand at reloading my own ammo, it's something I've wanted to try for years but I always seem to have something else going on. That, and I know it can become an expensive hobby if you're not careful.

I picked up an old "C" type press from a co-worker, it's probably as old as I am but it still looks really good.

All I need now is a powder scale and a case trimmer and I'll be ready to go...

I'll also need someone to show me WHAT THE HELL I'M

And yes, I have a reloading book, I just want someone who knows what they are doing teach me how to do it right. I'd rather learn from someone else's mistakes than to make them myself.
Summer isn't that far away...Summer isn't that far away...Summer isn't that far away...

If I say it enough will it get here sooner?

First post...testing...testing...

I'm not sure where I'm going to go with this, I'm thinking semi-personal, semi-political... Who knows...

If you stumble across this, feel free to say hi and let me know you were here, even if just for a moment...
